    • Dr. Jean Toth, RN

Dr. Jean Toth is the developer of the BKATs listed below, widely considered to be one standard for evaluating knowledge required for safe practice in critical care environments. Her initial focus was upon practice in Adult ICUs; she then developed versions of the BKAT for pediatric, neonatal, and emergency department settings. Most recently, her work has addressed the use of the BKAT in international settings and research using international subjects. The BKATs are used in English in several foreign countries, and the BKAT for adult ICU has been translated into Finnish for use nationwide there.
