Dr. Moran worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife, a Perinatal Education Coordinator, a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, an OB/GYN CNS and a Public Health Nurse over the course of her career. She started teaching at The Catholic University in 2005. She served the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses in various official capacities including as President in 2008. She reviewed manuscripts for the Online Journal of Nursing and the Journal of Japan Academy of Midwifery. Her research interests focus on violence against women, particularly pregnant women, a topic on which she has presented many times. Dr. Moran earned a B.S.N. at Villanova University, an M.P.H. and M.S. at the University of Hawaii, and a Ph.D. at the University of Virginia. She received her certificate in Nurse Midwifery from the Frontier School of Midwifery. She presently is nationally certified as a CNM and RNC.
