 Janet Merritt, Ph.D, RN, PMHAPRN-BC

Dr. Merritt has taught at Catholic since 2006. She has a Diploma in Nursing from Louise Suydam McClintock School of Nursing at St. Margaret’s Hospital, a B.S. in Psychology from Geneva College, a Master of Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from The Catholic University of America and a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from George Mason University. She is a Board-Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist in Virginia as well as a Certified Wellness Recovery Action Planning Facilitator. Her research interests include recovery-focused mental health care, wellness recovery action planning for adolescents and program evaluation research. She has published work on community-based nursing practice and nursing education. Dr. Merritt is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the National League of Nursing.
