Sr. Mary Elizabeth O’Brien is Professor Emeritus on the faculty of The Catholic University of America School of Nursing in Washington, D.C. She has taught, conducted research and published, most notably in the area of spirituality and nursing, for the past 39 years. Sister Mary Elizabeth is the author of 16 books, 4 chapters in books and numerous refereed journal articles; she has been the recipient of a variety of federal and private research grants totally approximately $1,250,000. Sr. O’Brien’s most recent work is a study of Saint Catherine of Siena’s care of the sick currently in production with “New Priory Press.
