  Petra Goodman, PhD, CNS, WHNP-BC, FAANP

Dr. Petra Goodman serves as the Assistant Dean for Research and Faculty Development at The Catholic University of America School of Nursing in Washington, D.C.  Dr. Goodman obtained her BSN and EdM degrees from Boston University and then went on to complete a MSN from the University of South Carolina, where she later also received her PhD degree in nursing.

An Associate Professor, Dr. Goodman currently teaches in the PhD program and also holds an adjunct faculty position at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Graduate School of Nursing. She retired from the Army Nurse Corps after 25 years of service. In the Army Nurse Corps, she held a variety of clinical and leadership positions, the most recent being the Director, Nursing Research Service, Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Goodman is active in numerous research projects acquiring over $2 million in funding. She is well-published and has provided numerous local, regional, and national presentations. Dr. Goodman is a nationally certified women’s health nurse practitioner and is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
