Dr. Susan Durham is an Assistant Professor in Nursing at the Catholic University of America. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the Pennsylvania State University, her Masters in Public Health from the University of Illinois and her PhD degree from George Mason University.
Dr. Durham has worked in academia for over 20 years, first at The University of Illinois in Chicago, then at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and presently, at The Catholic University of America. She has published several book chapters and research articles in her two areas of expertise, public health and Veterans’ health. She is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Nurse Corps serving with distinction for over 20 years, having been deployed once on active duty to a combat zone and activated for one year from a Reserve status to a stateside Army medical center during a combat operation. She was appointed by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to serve on two Veterans committees both dealing with Women Veterans’ Health Issues.
