BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING SECOND DEGREE PROGRAM
The Second Degree B.S.N. Program is a 20-month sequence leading to a B.S.N. degree. It is designed for students who have earned a baccalaureate or higher degree in the liberal arts or sciences. This program is built upon the recognition that college students, often older and with preparation in another discipline, have maturity, ability and desire to complete BSN requirements in a condensed, rigorous program.
For the program to be accelerated, a specific time sequence must be met. The program must be entered in the fall semester and completed in 20 months.
Because the accelerated program is dependent upon a specific time sequence, unsuccessful performance in any nursing course (a grade of "W" or less than "C") will extend the length of time needed to complete the program.
Students who do not meet the requirements of the Second Degree Program or who wish to complete the program in less rigorous manner may still be eligible for admission as a regular transfer or part-time student.
